THE NIGHT BEFORE is a song by written by Paul McCartney and credited to Lennon–McCartney for the Beatles 1965 film Help and accompanying album Help! The Beatles recorded the song at EMI Studios (now Abbey Road Studios) in London in February of 1965.
My arrangement for Dobro or Weissenborn in Open D tuning is a distillation of the full band’s sound and was greatly influenced by a swinging arrangement by Boston-based guitarist, Johnny A. whose intro I have gently borrowed. The Night Before is a lot of fun to play. Enjoy!
