MIMOSA was written by jazz guitar legend George Benson and has appeared on several of his recordings including “Off the Top” with organist Jimmy Smith and Saxophonist Stanley Turrentine as well as “Collaboration”, his 1987 recording with Earl Klugh that received Gold Record status in 1988.
C6th tuning is one of the most popular and versatile lap steel tunings in use today due to the wide range of available chord inversions available in the straight bar and slant positions and the logical way scale tones lie on adjacent strings. C6th is used in diverse genres of music including Western Swing, Jazz, Hawaiian, Blues, Pop, Sacred music and melodic Rock & Roll. The notes of the tuning spell out both a C6th chord and an Amin7 chord, but the tuning is popularly called C6th.
