“The Lonely Bull ” is a song composed by Sol Lake and first recorded by Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass as the title track to their 1962 LP of the same name. The song established the TJB’s iconic Mexican Mariachi band sound and eventually became one of the best known pop instrumentals of the 1960s. My arrangement for solo acoustic steel guitar in Open D is not an exact note-for-note rendition of the published melody but rather, my interpretation of the song.
