MIZRAB was composed by Hungarian jazz guitarist Gabor Szabo. Long before “world music” became it’s own category, Gabor Szabo was among the first to demonstrate the creative power of fusing world music elements with jazz, rock, raga, pop and even electronic feedback. Mizrab is a true fusion of Arabic, Flamenco and Indian music with jazz. Played over a largely drone-like accompaniment, Mizrab has a memorable melody that makes a great platform for improvisation.
