“Skokiaan” is a happy, upbeat popular tune originally written by Zimbabwean musician August Musarurwa. More than 19 cover versions appeared after its initial release making it the first Afro-pop world wide crossover hit. The dirrect influence on my arrangement was the steel guitar version recorded in 1954 by Bud Isaacs on his LP “Bud Isaacs and his Cryin’ Steel Guitar”.
