Stompin' at the savoy is a 1933 jazz standard composed by Edgar Sampson. Steel guitarist Jerry Byrd recorded a version of the tune with Chet atkins and Jethro Burns in the early 1950s. My arrangement for A6th tuning alternates single note with three-note chords. The tag ending modulates from the key of F to the key of C. This arrangement will work for both the 6-string and 8-string versions of A6th.

6-string A6th Tuning (low to high) : C#, E, F#, A, C#, E

8-string A6th Tuning (low to high) : F#, A, C#, E, F#, A, C#, E

Note: computer-generated audio usually sounds closer to a keyboard than a steel guitar but it is useful for demonstrating the rhythms, feel and overall intent of an arrangement or musical passage. Make this music come alive on your steel guitar.
