WINDY And WARM was written for guitar legend Chet Atkins in 1961. It has been covered by many players over the years. My arrangement for solo acoustic steel guitar partially follows Atkins’ arrangement but with changes based on my taste and ideas for making the song work better as a lap steel instrumental.

The tuning is an easy tweak from the standard Open D tuning (low to high) D, A, D, F#, A, D. Simply lowering string #3 from F# to F gives us Open D minor tuning. This is a fun tune to play and I hope you enjoy this arrangement.
